These road warriors have been in the studio for most of 2007 working on their latest album, but true to form they are once again taking to the open highway for a mini-tour of the US in April before heading to Europe for a series of May shows.
Originally signed to Sublime lead singer Bradley Nowell's Skunk label as a skate punk band, Slightly Stoopid's sound has evolved steadily over the years. Their last release, Closer to the Sun, had a very laid back vibe mixing elements of reggae, dub, hip hop, and Jack Johnson style acoustic singer/songwriting to great effect. You can catch them April 19th at the Belly Up - Aspen along with with Outlaw Nation and Wylde Bunch and April 20th at 8150 in Vail, Colorado.

If you know anything about The Smiths you’ll know from this band’s name that they’re a Smith Tribute band, and a very good one at that. Based out of San Francisco, this 5 piece plays nothing but Smiths and Morrisey covers. Orlandissy takes the helm as the Morrissey front man, sounding and moving just as Moz does.
They played an hour and a half set that covered everything from How Soon is Now to Boy With the Thorn in His Side. The newly remodeled Boardners outdoor stage was packed with fans of the Smiths, who knew every song, without a care that this wasn’t the real thing. These guys nailed it and had a good time doing it too. Next time This Charming Band is in your area go see them whether you're a Smiths fan or not.
